300 Bird Challenge
We wanted to see 300 different bird species before the end of 2024!

RULES
- Challenge ran from Jan 1st – Dec 31st, 2024.
- Sighting had to take place along the Mississippi or Atlantic migration paths (see below).
- Both Sara and I had to see the bird and we had to get it on camera.
- Bird had to be wild (not captive/released) and had to be on the ABA Checklist.
- Bird had to be a distinct species (No sub-species, no hybrids).
Rule 2. reads that the sighting has to take place in a certain area. Basically anywhere in Ontario, plus any province or US State that is east or south of Ontario. This wide area roughly corresponds with the Mississippi and Atlantic flyways/migration paths (see map image). This may seem like a wide area, but Sara and I have full-time jobs and mostly just bird and make videos on the weekends. We expect to visit the USA a handful of times. Florida, Michigan, New Jersey and Minnesota are on our list.
