Thomson Memorial Park

The first episode of BritHikesOntario is filmed at Thomson Memorial Park, heading east along part of the Gatineau Hydro Corridor trail.

Thomson Memorial Park is named after the Thomson family. I talk about David Thomson in the video and how he emigrated from Westerkirk, Scotland in 1796, landing in what was then Upper Canada.

This small park has many grassy areas for taking a picnics, there is an off-leash dog park and there is the small Scarborough Museum. The video mostly focuses on the wooded area of the park.

You can continue along this trail for quite a distance, as it passes through various other city parks.
